IPGSA at Euroanalysis 2025
Shaping the Future of Representative Sampling
At Euroanalysis 2025 in Barcelona, members of the International Pierre Gy Sampling Association (IPGSA) delivered three impactful presentations, each highligthing the critical role of representative sampling in science, industry, and society.
- Dr. Kim H. Esbensen highlighted why the Theory of Sampling (TOS) is indispensable “before analysis.” He called for a shift from focusing solely on analytical accuracy to shared responsibility for both sampling and analysis, ensuring trustworthy data for decision-making.
- Dr. Claudia Paoletti framed TOS in the context of risk assessment and regulation, stressing that reliable safety and compliance evaluations in areas like food, feed, and the environment depend on representative sampling.
- Dr. Rodolfo Romañach focused on the practical implementation of TOS in pharmaceutical laboratories and industry. He demonstrated how technology, training, and scale-invariant principles can minimize sampling error and secure representative results.
Together, these talks reflect IPGSA’s mission: to advance the understanding and application of the TOS, build global competence, and ensure that critical decisions rest on valid, representative, and trustworthy data.
Dr. Kim H. Esbensen – Why analysis needs the Theory of Sampling (TOS )– the importance of the ‘before analysis’ domain
Dr. Claudia Paoletti – The new frontiers in food and feed risk assessment
